This collection brings together six black-and-white drawings from my series exploring train stations as civic worlds. Cincinnati Union Terminal, Antwerp, Gare St-Benoîtins in Limoges, Gare de Lyon in Paris, Washington Union Station and Los Angeles Union Station each have a distinctive architectural character and relationship to their cities. Working in black and white allows the structure, movement and urban patterns of each station to become especially clear. Together, the six drawings form a study of railway architecture as a place of arrival, departure and everyday city life, seen from an aerial perspective.
