Stations as Civic Worlds & Emotional Portals
A railway station is more than a place to catch a train. It is a small city in itself — a meeting place of people, movement, architecture and everyday life. It can be a gateway into a city, a place of departure, or the first glimpse of somewhere new.
I am interested in these moments and in the character of the places that surround them. Through drawing, I explore how stations can become civic worlds — places that connect us not only to where we are going, but to where we have come from.
Technique - Thumbnail Sketch to Finished Place
Every station begins as a quick sketch. I start by drawing, looking, imagining and gradually building the world around the architecture. Lines become buildings, buildings become streets, and eventually the station becomes a place with its own character, movement and life.
From Aerial Views to the Human Scale
I enjoy creating aerial views, but these interior and pedestrian-level drawings take you into the places themselves.
