Milano Centrale Stazione

Description:  Milano Centrale is one of Europe’s most imposing railway stations, with its monumental façade and enormous roof structures creating a powerful presence within Milan. In drawing the station, I was particularly interested in the contrast between the scale of the architecture and the everyday activity taking place around it. Trains, buses, cars and pedestrians all contribute to the life of the place, while the surrounding streets connect the station to the city beyond. The aerial view brings these elements together and reveals the station as a dramatic urban composition, where movement and architecture are constantly interacting.
