Description: Gare St-Benedictins in Limoges has a very different character from the monumental railway terminals of London, Milan or Washington. Its distinctive tower and elegant architecture give it a strong presence within the city, while the surrounding streets and landscape create a more intimate setting. In drawing the station, I was interested in capturing this relationship between the building and the life around it. The trains, roads, people and surrounding buildings become part of the drawing, showing the station as something more than a place to catch a train — a recognizable part of the identity and daily life of Limoges.
